I'd like to run a parallel session on managing Web data.
I'm now working for the Digital Curation Centre and involved in supporting institutions with their research data management. I'm sure there is lots of Web data that some of our approaches could be applied to.
Ideas so far:
* Tips on dealing with data management of key data sets (which Web
teams often get saddled with) - so this could be personnel data, web stats,
student data, retention rates, graduation rates, stuff that FOI requests
might be for.
* Using the cloud/Web to store data sets - so a look at tools out there and the role institutional Web teams could play.
* Tips for data readiness - ideas related to the article 5 things IT should do now
http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9221055/_Big_data_prep_5_things_IT_should_do_now
It would also be great to do this as a double act with an institution who is already carrying out some of these activities. Anyone like to volunteer?
Any ideas much appreciated.

Web data management, particularly research data, is becoming increasingly important, would love to see what you've been learning through your DCC role :-D
